Monthly lunch with friends and former coworkers. So fun to catch up! I got there a little early, and grabbed my Kindle to sit at the table out front to wait for them to arrive. Two employees invited me inside, but I was comfy where I was...they have two ceiling fans there that move just enough air. When my friends arrived, we chose a 4-top near the window. It's not a large place, but it's comfy and not too tightly packed. They filled up quickly, and while it's lively, it's not obnoxiously loud. They have two TVs, but I was more interested in catching up with my friends. I had the Smoked Prime Rib sandwich, which includes cheese and comes on a Hawaiian roll and some creamy horseradish and fries. I won't apologize, I love fries and these were great and seasoned well. I ended up devouring the entire sandwich, dipping it into the horsey sauce. Delicious. Friend A had the same sandwich without the bun, and green beans in place of fries. (She's SO healthful!) She said the green beans are amazing. Friend B had the Open Face Smoked Ribeye Entrée, on bakery bread with mashed potatoes and gravy. She also got one each of the pot pies, chicken and short rib, to go for dinner tonight. The servers in general were very attentive, and our server in particular was fun and absolutely hilarious...but she could tell we were out for a good time. They have a large patio in back which I didn't notice until we were leaving. I'll have to make sure to sit out there on a future visit. Extra surprise, we ran into two friends of mine that I haven't seen in ages, and I got to chat with them for a few minutes as they were leaving. They have lunch there frequently and love the place as well. As busy as they got, we never felt rushed, and frankly, I could eat there every day! I will definitely be back. Oh, it's also nice to know that they'll do to-go/carryout orders. I can see stopping in several times a month.

I came here on my birthday. The service was wonderful the servers said his name was stud muffin. Um no I am not calling you stud muffin but Mrs. K. will. This place when I arrived was not crowded but it soon was packed to the rafters. There was even a group of ladies with a huge table outside on the patio who were a bunco group. I don't play bunco and they were not playing but they sure knew how to drink, god bless them. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs, beans, and coleslaw. This was $23.00 The ribs were smoked and served dry with sauce on the side. This is the new way to serve BBQ in St. Louis since we have the Pappy effect. I prefer my ribs served with sauce on them. Over all I would rate the ribs maybe a 3 on a 5 scale. If you see the picture I took the ribs looked very dark and almost too dry to eat. The baked beans and slaw were top notch. Mrs. K. had the fried chicken. It was an outstanding meal. I was able to sample the chicken and it was 5 stars. Stud muffin told me that all the food is homemade and to try the strawberry cheese cake. Spot on recommendation. Some of the best I have ever tasted and it is served in a bowl not on a plate. I would be happy to return and explore their menu more.

Been here three times and tried three different things. All excellent. First time was fried chicken. Cooked perfectly. Great thin batter, just needed more spicing/salt which I added at the table. Second time was short rib pot pie. Just excellent. Last nite was smoked rib eye open face sandwich. Again perfect. Keep this place a secret

We were visiting STL and I decided we'd go here for dinner because all of the reviews were good, and I needed to find a place where my carnivore husband could get a chunk of meat. The food did not disappoint! Collectively, we had the fried spinach appetizer, a slab of ribs (guess who), meatloaf, and prime rib. My husband loved the ribs, my son loved the meatloaf. I, however, ordered the prime rib meduim, rather than medium rare, and found myself longing for a hint of juiciness to go along with it. They were out of au jus, so I had to go with meatloaf gravy. That was definitely my bad. Lastly, this is the place to go if you want a quiet lovely dinner. I could swear there were less than 10 people under 40 in the place, which was kinda weird. I'm just saying that to say don't go there if you think you're gonna turn up. You aren't.

My favorite spot for ribs! I've been here several times with my wife and friends. It can get crowded, which just means the food is good. Their outdoor area is very comfortable with the right weather.

This restaurant is a wonderful find and really a little gem! Beautiful portions, and the food is very tasty and fulfilling! Fried chicken has a lovely light batter and it is not greasy at all! The short rib pot pie is very flavorful and quite filling with lots of very tender meat, carrots, and potatoes inside! The pot pie crust is flaky and delicious!! It was busy throughout our stay in the middle of the afternoon and I wouldn't hesitate to come here again and try other delectable choices! Great sandwich options, salads, platters and desserts!!!

After having this place on my bookmarks for ages and ages, I finally made it here recently! It's really a hidden gem, in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It isn't too far from my house and I can't wait to go back! There is outdoor seating, indoor, and a heated covered porch. We sat on the porch as it was a chilly day. The only complaint I had was that there were remnants of a fire in the fire pit outside and the smoke permeated the porch, especially when patrons entered through the outside door. I came here with one purpose: the veggie (black bean) burger. Described as a black bean patty served with cheese, peppers and onions and chipotle mayo on a hawaiian roll, it was house made. I ordered mine without the peppers and onions, as I'm not a fan. My husband ordered the patty melt. The food was so delicious!! The burger was so flavorful, and the mayo made it a little spicy but added great flavor. The bun was super soft and fresh. I couldn't stop eating it! The fries that came with were crispy on the outside and also really good, but I left some on my plate as I preferred the burger. Service was good. We got refills several times at the right time and the food came out quickly. My only complaint was that our waiter was standing describing the special to us and stopped mid sentence to greet and have a brief conversation with a couple of regulars who walked in. It was really awkward! He then finished and went to serve them even though we were ready to order. I can tell this place gets a lot of regulars. I hope to become one soon and get that treatment too!

Great fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and meatloaf. This place is a must if you are craving comfort food. The environment is very relaxed and the servers are always friendly.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner, well actually Chicken Pot Pie. I have to start off this review with a huge thank you to the other Yelper's that brought Piccadilly to my attention, most notably Steve B. I think it was a recent check-in complete with photos of the fried chicken and the mouthwatering mac & cheese made this a top choice on my bookmarks. Now with that out of the way I have to admit that I have been back on numerous occasions, and never had a bad meal. Now my main recommendation here is, get the Chicken Pot Pie. Heading into the winter this entrée is the perfect thing for those cold winter nights. First off this pie is huge, aside from the size the first thing you notice is the incredibly perfectly flaky crust. However once you dive into the steaming hot inside you will discover an incredibly creamy delicious mix of veggies and chicken. Hands down this is one of the best pot pies you can get in Saint Louis. I have tried several other entrees, the chicken is amazing and the Mac & Cheese is very creamy and cheesy, another must. Service here is always great, friendly with very reasonable prices. Seating can be limited inside, however there is also a small enclosed patio for additional seating. A full bar is also available, with 3-4 local beers on tap.

My girlfriend and I have gone for lunch a couple times since my last review. They know their soup. We've had the ham and bean soup; and our latest was the clam chowder (a cup for $3.99), which included all "normal" clam chowder ingredients, but added was corn. Holy cow . . . was this good. And so filling. Service has always been spectacular and so friendly. The latest entrees were steak sandwich and fish sandwich, and fried chicken again. Can't get away from that. It's so tasty. The steak sandwich was good, flavorful, robust amount of meat. Good bun/meat ratio. The fish sandwich was over-fishy (That's not a bad thing, meaning the fish is outstanding from the bun.) with wonderful accoutrements of lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce. Last time we went, we both got fried chicken. It comes with green beans and mashed potatoes. I forgot to ask for no gravy. But . . . it was OK. Green beans were as before . . . with just a bit of crispness to them and well-flavored. The fried chicken was fabulous. I don't know how they make this, but I want the recipe. Both visits have resulted in hefty to-go vessels for both of us. Man, oh man, is their food glorious!

6 stars for piccadilly at Manhattan. We were headed back to Texas through St. Louis and read the reviews. What a great spot to eat. Nice place, friendly staff, and real honest local . Pork pot pie - yum yum. Wife had the pulled pork sandwich - yum yum. We finished with the chocolate tort with ice cream - yum yum. If you are on i44 south west of downtown -- make the time to eat there.

Good food at a great price in a fun atmosphere! This place ticks off all the boxes including friendly service with a smile. The menu is good, basic comfort food-spare rib pot pie, three cheese grilled cheese, chicken pot pie, and bar-be-que ribs just to name a few dishes. Full bar. Casual atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor dining. A nice little place in a quaint neighborhood. Nothing fancy, but a very nice spot to relax and dine!

We had finished the a coffee crawl and really needed some food. I checked my handy Yelp app and it said Piccadilly was the place to eat. Hmmm plenty of open tables, the décor was eye catching and loved the real napkins. It took a bit for the waiter to give us some attention. We had to ask for the wine menu, and I had to ask twice for a glass of water. Finally we were able to order, my friend got the fried chicken with flash fried spinach, another ordered the pulled pork and I got the pasta con broccoli. The spinach arrived quickly, good thing that they added parmesan cheese, because that was all that you could taste. My friend could not eat her coleslaw, it tasted like mayo with cabbage... My friend did like the fried chicken, but the green beans and mashed potatoes were bland and boring. The chicken in my pasta con broccoli had zero taste, and lets say that I had to stop on my way home because something in the sauce did not agree with me. Been there done that, don't need to do that again...

Yum yum yum! This place is great American comfort food in portions that will be sure to fill your belly. On top of it, the location is so neat! Nestled in a neighborhood, this is truley a hidden gem in St. Louis! Inside is cozy and cute. All the tables have pictures and newspaper clippings from local events. I loved that touch! The food -- supremo. I opened the menu and saw nachos on the top and my brother and I knew that had to happen. I would have snapped a pic but I was too busy eating nachos... Topped with baked beans, pulled bbq pork, and banana peppers was enough to win me over -- could have been improved by using real cheddar instead of weird cheese product but hey, didn't stop me. Entrees were delicious. I opted for a salad and subbed chicken for shrimp -- excellent choice, it was seasoned and grilled to perfection. Tried a bit of ribs and would have been happy with those too! My brother got the patty melt and wasn't up for donating a bite but it looked wonderful. His fries were good. Of course we had to round out this feast for desert. Warm berry cobbler a la mode was warm and delicious. Can't really go wrong here and I can't wait to come back.

Got the burger, fries, and a side of green beans. Everything was okay, but nothing was seasoned so it was all very bland. The burger came with no vegetables besides onion and pickle and was so greasy it made the bottom bun soggy. The burger was cooked rare but had the texture of raw meat in the center which grossed me out so much I stopped eating it. The fries were some ore-Ida tasting things and the green beans definitely came from a can. We were sat next to the bar and everybody crowded around our table and bumped us which was very annoying. BF had the the patty melt and said it was good but pretty basic, he asked for some tomato for his sandwich and they brought him diced tomato. Who puts diced tomatoes on a sandwich?? It wasn't a horrible experience, but I won't be returning or recommending.

This is a hidden gem. Owners are present and working which always gains my respect. Huge following shows food is high quality and tasty. Regulars seem to know each other. Adorable awnings will alert you to it location tucked amongst homes along a quite street. Piccadilly has indoor, outdoor, and covered patio seating. They can accommodate large groups during off hours and do take reservations. The fried spinach appetizer, warm spinach artichoke dip appetizer, short rib pot pie, and fried fish sandwiches are all favorites of ours. I will try the Fried Chicken at some point, I have heard great things about it. Good portion sizes, you will not leave hungry.

This place is only walling distance from my boyfriend's place so we decided to check it out. So glad we did! The BBQ nachos were huge and so delicious! I also got the black bean burger and it was pretty good as well. I might not get it again though. We sat outside on the patio and it was beautiful. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

This visit was as good as in my past visits. The food was great and the service awesome. I have to say it was unusually quiet that night, usually the place is packed on a Friday night. We started by having the Flash Fried Spinach which is good - it's always a bit greasy but that is how they make it and it still tastes great. Then for dinner we all ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. And not one person was disappointed in it. The flaky crust is great but the stuff inside is awesome too. I also liked that they had a good drink selection and had Bells Oberon on tap.

I've been back several times at this point and have been in a better mood each time. I have yet to order something that wasn't amazing. Previous comments stand but there is enough breadth to their menu that I'm bumping my rating up to five stars.

First time there and loved it! Wonderful warm cozy place with great food and wine. We were in a super big hurry trying to get to a concert and Alex suggested items that are fast and got us in and out in with time to spare! It's our new "go to" spot. Can't wait to go back!

The Piccadilly is my new favorite fried chicken restaurant. It is so juicy on the inside and the outside is an even golden color that is crisp and perfectly seasoned. It is so perfectly done, that I'd bet it is pan fried. This type of perfection can not be achieved by deep frying. It is served with two sides; green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. The potatoes were whipped fluffy, but still hearty. I would have preferred a truer "yellow" chicken gravy, but their light brown was rather tasty. The green beans, were seasoned with the basics, salt and pepper and very well could be the best green beans I have enjoyed in a restaurant. The OD (other diner) enjoyed a 1/2 Rack of Baby Back Ribs, that could compete with some of our more popular BBQ joints in the city. The meat was extremely tender and juicy. It was so easy to completely clean the bones of every morsel of meat. What our local BBQ joints could learn from Piccadilly is how to serve up good Baked Beans and Cole Slaw. Both of these sides were worthy of a Blue Ribbon at the county fair. We started out with a couple glasses of wine and an order of onion rings. I know wine and onion rings don't go together, but it just that way. The onion rings were crisp and the ring of onion inside was soft, with just a little snap left in it. For me that is a good onion ring. We also shared an order of Baked Mac-n-Cheese. It was rich, creamy and baked with bread crumbs on top. Man-n-Cheese should always be baked like this. The service is down home friendly and personable. Piccadilly is located in a residential area, in an old house and you actual get the feeling you at a large dinner party in someones home. Many of the diners around us were regulars and when they found out it was our first time, they began chatting and giving us recommendations. One of the regulars, comes from Town & Country every week for a dinner. I was embarrassed, when I had to tell her I lived 1.7 miles away and had never been. She made it worse when she told me she has only lived here six months. However, now that I have discovered Piccadilly, I will be a regular.

We were not impressed. We came tonight after having it on our to do list while we had out of town guests, and I wish we brought them somewhere else. Highlights were instant mashed potatoes, canned green beans and cheese wiz. Pricing wise, the food should have been at a higher quality. But the real reason we will never come back is the staff. Perhaps they were over staffed tonight, but they seemed to have a lot of free time to talk to one another about other staff members, quite loudly next to our table while doing side work. Staff members seamed immature and unmotivated. Pretty disappointed, the old renovated house is pretty cute.

This place is fantastic. From the waitstaff to the food, I was quite impressed. I had the short rib pot pie and was blown away. Best pot pie I've ever had! Try it for yourself & let me know if you think the same. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you Piccadilly at Manhattan for a great dining experience.

The food is always amazing here. I've had the Cajun pasta (enough for leftovers), the ribs and the meatloaf. All prepared so well! Travis gave great service at the bar. Friendly staff.

Our first time in St Louis and after reading some reviews our party of 9 decided to try out this cute restaurant in the middle of a neighborhood. Had a San Fransisco type feel to it for me. We all enjoyed our food. Most of us ordered the ribs and they were delish. The baked beans might have even beat out the ribs. One person in our group ordered the pot pie and it was probably the best thing at our table. If I lived in this city I'm sure I would become a regular here.

I am a fan of this little place tucked away in a residential part of Ellendale. I've been a few times and have no complaints with the food or services. I would call the menu "standard", your usual sandwiches and some seafood options, nothing too "fancy", but everything they do offer they cook pretty well: I've had tasty ribs and succulent, perfectly-cooked shrimp (po boys). The "Picadilly Passion" cocktail is also fantastic and not overly sweet as this kind of cocktails tend to become. Well worth a stop if you want some non-fussy good food (offers are priced slightly higher than your "neighborhood grill" be aware).

It has been recommended by a lot of people. I finally went - sad I waited this long. Fantastic!!! I had the cheesburger - awesome on the best bun! My friends had the chichen pot pie almost too pretty to eat, tasted awesome and the other had the shirp po' boy. I didn't get a taste of that because she ate it so fast! Definitely recommend it! I am going back soon!

The Piccadilly is a quaint little family-owned restaurant tucked back in a residential area. It defies the law of location, location, location - but well worth the extra effort to find. I can't really compare it to any other place. It's small inside with a cute patio out back. The menu, although small-ish, is a little all over the place. I can't really pinpoint why I love The Piccadilly, but I do! I've been several times and here's some tried and true information for you: 1. They have flash fried spinach. Not enough places in St. Louis serve this little gem of an appetizer, which makes it even more enjoyable when you do find it on a menu. 2. Get the side salad with blue cheese dressing. Get it now! It sounds weird, but this is my single favorite thing to get here. When I say "blue cheese dressing", I mean more like the largest quantity of blue cheese crumbles you can imagine mixed in with almost a ranch-tasting base to lettuce, red onion, and croutons. My god, it's delicious! 3. You can't go wrong with the fried chicken. For $10 you get a heaping plate of some of the best fried chicken I've tasted with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. It's so much food that it's hard to keep it all on the plate and every last bite is tasty. 4. People go nuts for the ribs here. Although not a huge BBQ fan myself, I have to tell you that people rave. The owner smokes them out back. 5. They have Lime-A-Ritas on the drink menu. As someone who knows a little somethin' somethin' about drinking, I'm embarrassed to say I love these things! I've never ever seen them on a menu anywhere and thought this was cool. So punch 7201 Piccadilly Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63143 into your GPS and get on over there. The Piccadilly's a hidden gem.

Great neighborhood place! Friendly, helpful server who was very knowledgeable about their food and helped us decide what to order. You see, I have Yelp-ADD which causes me to want to eat everything I read about in peoples reviews that I like. So I was torn between fried chicken (Steven B), ribs (Steven B again!), and chicken pot pie (Sadia Lynne B). Went halfsies with the Husband on the pot pie and the ribs. Ribs were so meaty and the smoke flavor really shined. So much so that the rub became kind of irrelevant. I'm sure it was good, but the real star was the smoke. The pot pie was the big hit to me, which worked out well because Husband preferred the ribs I think. Puff pastry pillow on top of a creamy rich stew full of chicken and vegetables...I'm drooling now just writing this. Oh, and I should also mention that the ribs were served with a creamy cole slaw and baked beans. The cole slaw was crunchy and fresh-taxing, albeit a little heavy on the mayo for my taste. The beans were delicious - perfectly cooked, full of meat and sweet. I need to return here to try something with pulled pork. If their ribs were that smoky, the pulled pork must be amazing!

First off, I went to this place thinking it would be another restaurant with the same name from back home that serves cafeteria style. We arrived I immediately realized my mistake. Me and the wife decided to give it a go since it was 9:00pm. I ordered the fried chicken, Mac and cheese and green beans. My wife had the salmon. My food was delicious, crispy on the outside juicy on the inside. The Mac and cheese was great and the green beans were "ok". In my opinion this fried chicken is better than Sweetie Pie's and mama josephines. My wife says her salmon was seared perfectly but nothing outstanding. Oh, only gasp was they didn't have sweet tea. Oh and the service was awesome, everyone was super nice. No doubt that I'll be back!

This gem is tucked away on a quiet residential corner. From the outside you could mistake it for a neighborhood bar, but not a dive. The interior is bigger than you would expect and even has a glassed-in deck. The furnishings and atmosphere are casual. The Chicken Tenders appetizer consists of five of the biggest tenders you've ever seen! I'm guessing there is close to a pound of chicken on the plate. The light breading is a delight. The house dressing is a bit reminiscent of oriental but with a slight kick. The home made Ranch is the best I've ever had. Definitely an A+. The Famous Picadilly Fish Sandwhich featured lightly breaded (different breading than the tenders) Swai that came on a 6" long grilled bread/roll with pickles and onion on the side. The sandwhich consisted of not one, but two plump pieces of fish, each longer and almost as wide as the bread. The breading is crisp, the fish moist perfection, and the tartar sauce is unlike what you commonly get. Another A+. The Fried Chicken, white meat portion was hard to believe. The plate arrives with TWO giant chicken breasts. If you're familiar with KFC breasts, think two or three times that size each. These are the Dolly Partons of chicken breasts. The breasts are lightly breaded (again, different breading from the tenders or the fish). The meat was moist, tender and delicious. Somehow they manage to fit delicious homemade mashed potatoes and good but less than remarkable green beans onto the plate. I'm not usually a fried chicken person but this was delectable. The breading crust is a delight by itself. I have to go A++ on this one. Despite feeling more than satisfied, we couldn't resist splitting one of the homemade individual BlackBerry Cobblers. Served hot with vanilla ice cream on top, it was among the best either of us have had. If we had managed to have this at home we would have been fighting over who got to lick the small souffle ramiken clean. Our server was friendly and attentive. Our non-alcoholic beverage glasses were never empty. We were seated just a few feet from the small bar and the atmosphere was not rowdy or loud. On previous visits we've had the Chicken Pot Pie (unbelievable), the Cajun Pasta and the Meatloaf. Each of those was on par with the meals I just described. Now that I've told you about our meal you really don't need to go there. In fact, please don't go to Picadilly. If you all start going there we won't be able to get a seat and we plan on being back a lot.

My mom loves this place. So do other people around my mom's age. BUUUUT thats ok b/c good food is good food. And they have great food, but their service has really declined over the years. I'm 3-5 years late in reviewing this place but I was prompted to do so after another bad experience with the service. I'll save you the details but plan to wait around for stuff (drinks, the check) for awhile. And I hate when servers feel so "bothered" to serve me. The flash fried spinach app is killer though. So good, never had anything close to it. I've gotten fried chicken here (great) and ribs (also great). So the food is great, no doubt. You may also be waiting for awhile, its a small place so keep that in mind. But, if you can become a regular here and the owners (who are very social) like you, then you're taken care of. It's a cool club here, apparently.

My most recent visit was with my man on one of the last few days before I put that band on his hand, and made an honest man out of him. We had just picked-up our marriage license and I felt like it was the perfect opportunity to share a quintessentially American meal with the (British) man of my dreams. Off we went to The Piccadilly. We perused the menu, but we knew what we were getting before we sat down, so two orders of the fried chicken (white meat only), it was. The breading they use is just sublime. It's the perfect combination of spice and crunch. We had a lovely meal and the only thing tastier at that table was my now husband. No competition. :) I know, I know. I'm a mush ball. I'm a newlywed, though. Comes with the territory. :)

I wanted to try some good quality fried chicken while in the US and this was the place that was recommended. The venue is lovely (as was the company!) and it probably was the best fried chicken I've ever had. But I guess I'm just not that into fried chicken...and my stomach certainly isn't!

The first time I go to a restaurant I like to order the most popular dish and order what sounds good if I return. I ordered the short rib pot pie and it was great! The atmosphere, and service were great. I only give five stars to fine dining establishments.

This place is so cute, and unless someone takes you here or you are an avid yelp user, you may never find it. Tucked in a residential neighborhood with one-way streets, it can be kind of tough to get to. I was there for lunch on a beautiful Friday afternoon. We dined on the patio. The smoker was going in the back yard and I forgot I was at a restaurant, not at a friend's house... The food was good, but not great, I would be interested in going back... The menu consists of your typical pub far and your favorite comfort foods.

We found this place by accident driving around the neighborhoods. We did not stop to go in though, and since then all we talked about was how cool Piccadilly looks and how we definitely need to try it. We finally managed to come here for dinner on raining cats and dogs kind of night. I did not anticipate a wait or the hustle and bustle coming here but place was packed and had a waiting list and reservations. The hostess did allow us to sit outside though in the covered patio. With the rain pouring down and the twinkling lights above, the patio was amazing. I love outdoor seating. They had plenty of room and lots of tables which I was surprised. The patio is probably super busy during the cool nights when you can actually enjoy STL weather... The food here was delicious. The menu was short and sweet and not overwhelming at all. They have home style meals like Meatloaf, Pot Pie, Fried Chicken served with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. I had the Fried Chicken and it was freaken amazing. I am not a huge Fried Chicken gal but this stuff was finger liking good. My bf had the Meatloaf and even that was mouth watering. For dessert we had the Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream.....No words can express how my taste buds felt after the first bite. The prices are reasonable and fair for the portions you get. I think the only thing about this place that knocks down a star is the parking. its a little cramped on the street and on busier nights you will have to park further down. No biggie really, just not as convenient. Despite that, Piccadilly is really good overall in the food department, the service, the atmosphere and uniqueness.

Such an adorable place hidden away in a cute neighborhood. My group was seated outside on the patio, which had such a nice feel on a warm summer day. The two old men sitting at the table next to us gave a glowing review of the chicken pot pie (and wagered my entire table's bill if one of us ordered it and didn't enjoy it), so of course I had to go with the pot pie. :) And I certainly did not regret it! It came out piping hot, and the crust... wow, the crust! It was so flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. It went very well with the creamy soup. Four stars instead of five because our waitress, although friendly and attentive, had to be prodded for information about specials and what drinks were available. Really, I would like to give 4.5 stars though.

I stick by my review of the awesome brunch but was so sad to see that they are going to be closed Sunday and Monday.. I found out about this place too late. Taken from their website:" Maggie and Nick decided that one day just wasn't enough time to spend with their family and friends. After June 16th, The Piccadilly will be closed on Sundays and Mondays. Please join them on Sunday, June 9th and Sunday, June 16th for one or both of their final mouth - watering brunches at the Piccadilly. Click here to see our Father's Day menu. Reservations required.) Special tokens will be given out at brunch and may be redeemed Tuesday - Saturday."

My husband eats like a lumberjack (and looks like Paul Bunyan). So when we sat down at Piccadilly for the first time and he ordered a full slab of ribs, I had no doubt in my mind he'd take it down, bone by bone, like the champ that he is. But that fateful afternoon, he was bested by the biggest hunk of BBQ I have ever seen in my entire life: A dry-rubbed, meaty behemoth, made fresh that day - complete with a side of tangy, sticky, gloriously delicious sauce. Now, I can't say I was expecting great BBQ from a place that felt more like a streetside bistro - but who doesn't love being pleasantly surprised? The whole meal was fabulous, and we'll definitely be back - Perhaps to challenge the rack of ribs a re-match - or maybe just to take on the chicken pot pie.

Wonderful warm location "off the beaten path" friendly staff and awesome food. I had the smoked ribs AMAZING! Jen had the Piccadilly Cheese-steak. Which was yummy too (to me they only get so good but this was at the top of the game) The pot pie -which it appeared everyone was ordering (or the fried chicken) looked amazing too. Nice place will return.

A cute little place that was recommended to me by my boyfriend who likes to go there, so we went there for his birthday celebration. It's a cute area in a neighborhood next to a sewage area, so imagine my surprise when it threw me back to the shops of rural Kansas with a homelike atmosphere. I was taken aback by how cramped it was as well as the fact we had to wait 15-20 minutes when we had a reservation (I guess that was our mistake getting there a few minutes late). However, they were attentive by letting us know every few minutes how the table hunt was going. This attentiveness was kept with our waiter, who constantly was checking if we needed anything throughout our time spent here. The food was great for you typical bar food! Supposedly their ribs are good, but I wasn't craving them at the time. I did get a 3 or 5 or 12 grilled cheese (I forgot how many, lol) and that was nummy. However, I think the blend wasn't the best for a grilled cheese specifically, because it kept dripping which is rather odd for a grilled cheese. The fries that came with it were a very nice touch and aren't the kind that are too fried. Nom! Overall, a nice gem to tell other people about, and make sure you have a reservation, just in case...

A friend introduced me to this place last night. Good thing because I would have never found it on my own. To say it's off the beaten path is an understatement! I'm a little health conscious in these early days of 2011 and was a bit apprehensive about going somewhere known for their fried chicken. Luckily, there seemed to be some good salad options, so I was headed in that direction. Or so I thought. Then the server explains one the specials of the day: salmon (healthy), salad (very healthy) and homemade mac and cheese (oh well, I'll just have one little teeny tiny bite). I was beyond sold. The salmon was ok, but not awesome. A little overdone really. The salad was a handful of plain mixed greens with orange dressing and nothing else. But the mac and cheese. SIGH. I stuck by my original plan to only eat one bite at first. After all, I'm on a mission and cheesy noodles are only so good. But when my willpower is firing on all cylinders there's only one thing that can break me down: bacon. The mac and cheese had BACON in it! Real cheese and real bacon. It was hands-down the best mac and cheese I've ever had. We're talking last-meal-on-death-row kind of good. I think it took me 20 minutes to eat that mac and cheese. MY friend had long since finished his roast beef, but I didn't care. I was eating that sucker one noodle at a time and savoring every bite! It was soooo good. Thank god it was only a small bowl. But, to tell you the truth, it was worth every single calorie and the extra 30 minutes on the treadmill today. bottom line: don't try to kid yourself about eating healthy here. That's clearly not their forte. Stick to what they do best: calorie-laden homemade awesomeness. Oh, and definitely get the mac and cheese if you get the chance.

Great neighborhood restaurant off the beaten path for most. I have gone a few times now, and whiel the bbq was good, the patty melt is one of the best I have had. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, and lots of locals and neighborhood folks. Easiest to get to off Big Bend, I have found. Definitely recommended.

I had dinner and drinks with a few girlfriends here last week. If you didn't know where you were going, you would probably never finds this place because it's tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood, but that only adds to the charm. Inside the tables are all hand decorated with a specific theme to each, like the Bob Dylan tribute or the super special Komen table displaying numbers from race day, that pays homage to the owner's sister and others no longer with us. These touches make this place was really comfortable and the outdoor seating area was extremely relaxing. However, the food really stole the show - from the flash fried spinach to the mountains of onion rings and the super cheesy and wonderful grilled cheese, everything was fabulous. They also have a giant BBQ adjacent to the back patio where they BBQ all their own meat and we also heard other raving about the fried chicken. Oh and don't forget to try the Manhattan!

My husband and I absolutely love Piccadilly's ! Nick and Maggie are the best and to be honest we would go even if the food was just so so.. because we love the service and the atmosphere. You are always treated like a friend at Piccadilly's. BUT the food is fantastic and you will never know what surprise will be waiting with Tony's fantastic specials!! Kudos to the staff too...a shout out to Jeff, Chuck and Tom!! You guys are the best!! Tonight we had a tortellini stuffed with goat cheese, crab meat, tomatoes... to die for!!! Dennis and Karen

The Piccadilly's menu, posted on its website, attracted us here on a Saturday evening. It was very popular, but thankfully we were seated close to immediately after the waitstaff saw us. The menu is American, with comfort food, including the St. Louis favorite of toasted ravioli. The entrees are uncommonly affordable and delicious. The patrons ranged in age too, convincing me I was not in a hipster joint. The bar seemed to be stocked with quality spirits.

Visited here for the first time today with a friend who raved about the place, especially their meatloaf. I wanted the shrimp po boy when I saw it on the menu and it did not disappoint! The grilled shrimp was perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, the aioli was tasty, and the bread toasted to perfection. What a great sandwich! The fries were to die for. Our wait person was friendly and attentive. The iced tea was meh, definitely from a concentrate, so that was why 4 stars. I'll be back! Great place!

I went here with two friends on a week night and it was pretty packed. Its a small restuaurant tucked in a subdivision in Maplewood. The staff was very friendly. It smelled delicious when I walked in. That was the BBQ special for the night. I had the 4 cheese grilled cheese sandwich and fries. It was pretty yummy but I couldn't eat it all. It was a whole lot of cheese, and I love cheese. The portion of the fries was a little small, but then again I didn't really need more fries. My friends both had the special, BBQ ribs. One friend really liked them and the other thought they were a little tough. There was a lot on the menu to choose from. I will definately go back and try some other items. They have a patio out back that looks like it would be nice to sit on when the weather is nice too. All in all, good experience, I will go back.

My parents are big fans of this place. I think they place all too much emphasis on the fact that it's a smoke-free facility, and that may have led to their sky high reviews of the place. I walked in and was very underwhelmed by the decor. Plain gray walls and somewhat uncomfortable seating. This definitely had a small town feel to it. I'm not saying that in a demeaning way at all either, it seems to fit here. We sat down at a lackluster table in only semi comfortable chairs. We had a bit of a larger group and were squeezed around the table just a bit tight. Overall the food is good, maybe inconsistent at worst. I tried the Chicken Pot Pie, and of everyone at the table I think we agreed that my dish was the winner. The crust was perfectly cooked and the contents of the pie were absolutely delicious. A few of the other dishes were so-so. A few folks swear by the fried chicken and the fried grouper sandwich. I do know that the meatloaf special we had that night was also pretty decent. I don't want to stress enough that the Chicken Pot Pie was the winner. Hopefully as the weather warms they can perfect a few of the other dishes to stack up the Pot Pie. I give this place very high marks although I would think they could improve the interior just a bit and make the seating a little bit more cozy to go along with the homestyle menu.

Great place! I've been here with both a large group and just 2 of us, and both times had excellent service, great food, in a unique atmosphere. This is a somewhat small American grill type of place nestled in the Ellendale neighborhood. The food is typical American fare, but everything I've had has been top notch. It's hard to screw up french fries, but it's also hard to make them amazingly good too. These fries were amazingly good. The crowd here tends to be older, but being in my 20's I've never felt even remotely out of place here. The indoor setup has a lot of fun stuff like old match-books and ticket stubs under glass on your table, and fun decor. I've never been here in the warmer months, but they have a nice sized patio and since it is nestled in the middle of this very quaint neighborhood, I imagine sitting outside would be awesome. Food and drink prices are also very reasonable. I am pretty sure there were only 2 entrees over 10 bucks. The draft beer selection isn't huge, but they have a good variety on bottles. And they have a good selection of speciality drinks. My only complaint is that the inside can be a bit cramped, even if they aren't that busy. Not a huge deal and I imagine the warmer months are better and more spread out. If you are looking for a great, American-style place to have a great meal and a few drinks, I think this is a top spot.

Looooooooooove this place. The bf gets major pts for discovering this place (otherwise I never would've found it!), but this place serves great American fare at a reasonable price. The minute you walk in, you are greeted by the yummy smells from the kitchen. The reason why he loves this place is bc of the fried chicken. He's not a fan of Hodak's cornmeal breading (I am!), but he knew I would love this, too...AND I DID. For $8.99, you get half a chicken (i.e. breast, wing, thigh, and drumstick), plus mashed potatoes (YUMM!), and green beans. The breading is light, so you don't have to take a bite and wonder where the chicken is - the chicken is cooked perfectly and is juicy! Since I'm nice and am willing to share, the bf opted to try the ribs that were on special - OMG...they could def rival Pappy's! He also like the coleslaw that came on the side (I personally don't like cole slaw) - it was not drowning in mayo like some places make it. The restaurant itself is small and seems to always be full, but come in a little later (we arrived close to 8PM on Thursday) and be seated almost immediately. My fingers are crossed that this place stays a hidden neighborhood gem so it avoids overcrowding, but the food is too good to not rave about (esp at the reasonable prices!).

I came here for an early lunch before a day wandering around St. Louis, and I was impressed by this recently opened, locally owned place. First of all, the entire front-of-house was being run by one person. I'm talking the bar and all of the tables. He was quick, efficient, didn't forget a thing. In other words, it was quite a feat. I also liked the surroundings. All of the tables were covered in some type of homemade mural, whether was concert tickets or pictures. Our table was covered in wine labels. I thought that was a nice touch. And although it was too chilly to sit outside, the patio area was really cool-looking with brightly painted tables and chairs in all different colors. The food was also good. The person I ate with had a really good steak sandwich, and I had a turkey club that was on special. It was both cheap and well-made. I also had the house salad, which was covered in goodies like black olives and red onions. This is a local restaurant that I think people should support. There should be more places like this.

Just went here for the 2nd time and it was amazing once again. They had a prime rib special, smoked baby back rib special, and a salmon special. Our table got all 3 and it was amazing. Looking forward to trying the fried chicken next time. You have to get the macaroni. This place is really small and you probably need to get reservations but its cool inside. Our waiter (dont remember name but he was a 30ish guy with dark hair) was awesome and the whole staff is always really nice. I could see this place being on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives for sure.

My mom and her husband had suggested this place last night and I decided to join them for dinner. It is a really neat corner bar/restaurant that has a lot of character on the inside. It is very well lit on the inside and they have several TVs so you can watch the games. I thought it was quite busy for a Wednesday night as just about every table in the main area when you walk in was taken. We sat down on what I guess used to be a Church pew which was rather comfy. The tables apparently all had a theme to them, for example my mother pointed out that she had sat at the Eric Clapton table before. I don't recall what table we sat at this night or if it was intentional to have these themes but still it was something fun to think about. Onto the menu. Everything on it I wanted to try. I ended up getting the half fried chicken but was disappointed they couldn't sub out a side for something else. I saw that they had baked mac' n' cheese so I got a side of that to go along with the green beans and mashed potatoes that were coming with my fried chicken. My mother got the chicken pot pie and my step dad got the grilled cheese. I was a little disappointed that I missed out on them having Kraftig on draught so I went with a Budweiser. Anyway, our food comes out and the Fried Chicken was amazing. I didn't think I would finish it all but had everything. The breading had a slight spice to it that wasn't too overpowering and the meat itself was flavorful and juicy. The mashed potatoes were real potatoes in a white gravy that was really good and the green beans were just served in butter which I added a bit of salt to. My mother's pot pie was huge and my step dad's grilled cheese with chili was excellent they both said. I have to say the Mac' n' cheese didn't live up to my expectations. It wasn't very flavorful at all and just kind of bland. It wasn't even macaroni, it was penne noodles in what looked to be some sort of shredded cheese that was baked into it and then breadcrumbs on top. Needless to say I was underwhelmed for the $2.99 side option. So will I be back? Of course. There were so many things I wanted to try on the menu so I can't wait for the opportunity to do so. Will I try the mac and cheese again? Probably not unless I see someone else try it and it turns out they have changed it.

I went to Piccadilly's for lunch and had an OK meal. I had their smoked chicken salad sandwich. It was OK. I felt it was a little overpriced at $8 bucks. The service was good. I don't have much more to say.

I had a date introduce to this place when he saw it on 'Show me St. Louis'. I'm not going to lie I was a little worried when we pulled up to a restaurant in the middle of a neighborhood but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved how every table had a theme. We sat at the table that had matches underneath the glass. I was a dork and pointed out every place that I have been to while we were waiting on our food. We both ordered the burger because it was recommended and I will tell you to this day...I still think about that burger. You bet your ass I'll be back. Thanks Piccadilly!

This little restaurant in the midst of a residential area in the city makes some of the best American food. Everything my wife and I have ordered has been great. Unfortunately I have lived less than 1/2 mile from this place for 4 years and never new it was there. It looks like a house and is tucked away off a side street. I would suggest marketing a little but it's always crowded and probably couldn't handle it. The service is great and extremely personable. The kitchen turns out great grill type food. We usually get the wings and they have smoked baby back ribs on special most nights that are great. There served with sauce on the side, which is how we like them. This is the kind of place Triple D from the food network could go visit. It's like they have a real chef in this little place back in the back. The turkey sandwich is unbelievable also. Artichokes and cream cheese with perfectly herb seasoned juicy turkey. The prices at the Picadilly are like a throw back to the 80's or 90's, It seems that the bill is never over $50 and we always get drinks, entrees, salads and even a desert sometime. There homemade deserts are $3. They don't mark up their wine like most either. We had a nice bottle of Malbec for $20. All the bottles are in that price range. Nick and Maggie are the owners and they usually come by the table and say hello. It does appear to be a much older crowd, so it is not a trendy night out for the twenty something crowd, but it's still very fun and worth checking out any night of the week. Great job!!

I don't think I ever would have found this place if it wasn't for a family member recommending it on a recent lunch. It's tucked out of the way and I almost missed it going down the street--thought it was just a house until I saw the bar lights through the window. They were super friendly and although they don't have a kid's menu, we were able to get a side of chicken for my son to eat. I got the Patty Melt which was delicious but HUGE. I could only finish half of it. There's a really cute outdoor seating area and we didn't get to sit there because it was cold and rainy but I would love to go back during warmer weather and try it.

Trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but had HORRIBLE service here. Had to wait for a table, which seemed reasonable, given its popularity. Then had had to ask a passing server to wait on us after sitting at our table for at least 15 minutes without anyone paying us any attention. Placed our order, then 45 minutes later the waitress said she'd lost our ticket, never even put in our order and made us order again. THEN told me I shouldn't order the fried chicken because it would take too long. Really?!!! Food was tasty but definitely NOT worth the 3 1/2 hours we spent there trying to eat dinner. OVERARTED.

I do not know how people would find this place if they were not seeking it out. It is the cutest lil place tucked away in a quaint Ellendale neighborhood at the edge of the city a stones throw from Maplewood. It all started as a retirement venture of Maggie and Nick...I may have some inside info as I am an acquaintance of their daughter! With this family oriented restaurant in mind you can just imagine the care and love that goes into their home cooking! Everything from fried chicken and pot pies, to black bean burgers and shrimp fajitas! The yummy mix of food is sure to make everyone happy! This place is a must try!!!!

Wish there were more plces like this around. Good comfort food, non pretentious, excellent prices. I'll give the food an A-. Mac and cheese was a little on the bland side. Smoked Prime Rib and Chicken Pot Pie were very good. Place is tiny and cramped but servers do a good job of attending to everyone's needs. Good neighborhood joint.

The brunch they serve is on Sunday morning (10am start) has me coming back just about every week. As a vegetarian the traditional menu isn't very exciting, but if you're looking for a delightful and delicious breakfast/brunch Sunday morning, This neighborhood place has what you're looking for.

Been here a few times before but tonight was rather disappointing. Ordered the pasta special and the noodles were way undercooked. Add to that the fact that our waitress was very unattentive and it makes for a rather blah evening. Not sure if we will go back again at this time.

Just moved to the neighborhood and couldn't be happier that we can walk to this place. It's pretty amazing. As charming as any little restaurant I've ever seen, everyone seems to know each other there and the staff is incredibly friendly. My husband and I have had a couple late lunches on the patio and it's divine. I always get their house salad with blue cheese to start, dressing is homemade and soooo cheesy, yum! Also love their grilled cheese. My husband is obsessed with the shrimp po boy and also got a cheeseburger once that he said was truly excellent. Such a cute place and really reasonable prices. This is definitely going to be a restaurant that we frequent.

Wow. For a neighborhood restaurant= Amazing. Shrimp poorboy was unreal. The wings were excellent, fried perfectly, perfect amount of sauce, amazing pesto ranch as a dip. Tomato basil soup and grilled cheese (3 cheeses I think) was better than any Chicago diner. Service was excellent, family staff, know everything about the menu and the kitchen process for each item. Michelob Golden Light on draft (you HAVE to try this at least once in your life). They have a made-from-scratch pot pie that I love, and this is coming from a guy that traditionally HATES pot pies.

Love the Picadilly! Have been multiple times and it never disappoints. My favorite menu item is actually their fish sandwich, which is a HUGE grouper filet with great flavor. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place with a solid menu and friendly neighborhood atmosphere.

Been there three times for lunch now. The wait for the food is a tad bit long but the food is always good. The menu has a lot of choices for such a little place and they usually have about 3 specials. I had the pulled pork, ribs and the special summer salad so far. I've had better ribs elsewhere but they were ok. The summer salad with strawberries was divine. I intend to go back and try everything on the menu. I'm a sucker for a patty melt, so I need to try that next. The service is very friendly. This place used to be my uncle's neighborhood tavern and hang out and my father took me there when I was little. It really has evolved into a nice, clean establishment.

One of the finest eating establishments in the area. The BBQ is wonderful, the fried chicken is the best in the area regardless of what any article says and the pot pie is the bomb. The fried grouper is the best you will find unless you are in Florida. We will continue to come back and Maggies salad is the best.

In short, I loved this place. I recommend it and would go back without hesitation. I had a friend who used to live near this restaurant, which has been in the same family for a long time. I remember the place used to look a bit rundown and not attractive, and the main thing I remember is that there used to be an electrocuted squirrel hanging from the electric lines in front of it. At some point in the last 5 years, this restaurant was remodeled and redone (and the squirrel is gone!). I rediscovered this place a few days ago, when 4 of us went to dinner on a weekend. The place was packed. Parking around the corner and walking to it, we could smell a very enticing smokey meat smell coming from the back of the building. Tastebuds primed, we walked in and after a reasonable wait, our party was seated and greeted by a very friendly woman. Our server was very nice and explained the specials, which sure enough, included smoked ribs and smoked prime rib. The menu looks like the classic American diner food, but with a modern twist. We started out with the flash-fried spinach appetizer. It was an impressive crisp but not wilted perfectly cooked plate, topped with a dry cheese (parmesan, I think) and something tangy. It was delicious. Our party of four ordered prime rib, smoked ribs, the house meatloaf and a pasta primavera. The prime rib was perfectly cooked and served with flash fried spinach. Alas, we had ordered the spinach appetizer, but it complemented the prime rib really well. (I am personally not a prime rib fan - the texture grosses me out, but this was well done and the smokey flavor was very complimentary of the meat cut). The smoked ribs were perfect - enough meat, enought texture and a delicate but tasty and smokey sauce. The meatloaf was really flavorful, moist and served with garlic mashed potatoes. Now, the green beans that came with the meatloaf were a bit too soft and soggy, but went nicely with the meartloaf. If I had to complain about the meatloaf, it would be that the green beans really came up short compared to the rest of the meal, and that I could've eaten two or three servings of a meatloaf that good. Finally the pasta primavera was perfectly done - the pasta itself tasted fresh and cooked with enough texture/firmness to be a flavor by itself. We didn't make it to dessert, but I may go back just for dessert, since whatever cobbler-thingy the table next to ours ordered looked really good.

a client gave me a gift card to this place for the holidays and she raved about it. we used the gift card for sunday brunch (it was so busy we sat at the bar). we have been back several times since for brunch and bring everyone we know with us. the food is just perfect. the fruit was fresh. im pretty sure they make their own sausage (but i may have made that up). the bloody mary's looked like a favorite. the jam is homemade. the first time we went, the bf got a slinger but doesnt like poached eggs so he cleaned the plate but left the eggs. a few minutes after they took our plates, the owner came over and asked if there was something wrong with them and the bf said that he will order it next time with scrambled eggs but that everything was delicious. the second time we went, the bartender remembered his order from before and came over to remind him to order it with scrambled eggs instead! now that's service. i guess that shows how infrequently the patrons dont clear their entire plate! cant wait to eat dinner there.

Went there because of reviews and friends who have talked about how good it is. First let me say the food is very good and over priced by a few bucks. The over price menu would not be such a big deal when it is paired with excellent service and a friendly warm smile. As another review mentioned the waitresses seem "bothered" if you need or ask for something. This could be because we had our 15 month old boy with us and I'm guessing this was a mistake. The place clearly is for an older crowd and they def do not cater to kids... Ya the have high chairs but that's all- no kids menu. No friendly warm smiles no waves, it's as if we must of missed the sign in the door that said little kids aren't welcome... I don't expect anyone to drop what they are doing but when a lil boy waves and smiles you would think the friendly- I want your business and I'm glad your here thing to do would be to smile and wave back at the little guy. Overall if you like good food that's a little bit, not a lot over priced, paired with not so friendly- wish you weren't here attitude this is the place to bring your closest friends and kids

First time trying their brunch and loved it! The weather was nice, so we grabbed a table on the patio out back among their plants and flowers. One table had their dog with them, and the restaurant had given the dog a bowl of water. My husband had the classic breakfast with eggs (served poached, fried, or scrambled), bacon, hash browns, and fruit (kiwi, oranges). The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly! 1 egg $9, 2 for $10, 3 for $11. Our neighbors' pancakes were thick and fluffy. They looked quite filling. I had the biscuits and gravy. THE.BEST.EVER! These are the biscuits and gravy I've been looking for all my life. The biscuits are fresh with a light, flaky texture. The gravy is packed full of their homemade sausage. I look forward to coming back and getting this again. Oh, wait! I didn't even mention that this comes with my choice of sausage or bacon (the gravy has so much sausage, so get the bacon), hash browns, fruit (kiwi, oranges), and eggs, served poached, fried, or scrambled (1 for $9, 2 for $10, 3 for $11). You can also request toast. It's a thick piece of bread that does not come out pre-buttered. They didn't charge us for the toast, but with all the other food, I barely had room for the toast. All this for only $9! I couldn't believe it!

First impressions mean everything. That being said...my first experience (and maybe last) at Picadilly was not a good one. We ordered 2 "half" fried chicken dinners. My girlfriend got all dark and paid the regular price of $9.99 which includes a small amount of mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. I got all white and paid $12.99 for mine. She got 4 SMALL pieces and I ended up with 2 breasts, one of them average size and cooked right and juicy and one VERY SMALL one way overcooked! The breading was just flour and nothing special. I got blackberry cobbler for dessert that was very good but not enough for the money. All in all.....way overpriced and the quality was average at best. I could have paid less and gotten better bigger fried chicken from a friggin Popeyes!

Wow. Another overrated restaurant. Way to go St. Louis. OLDIES. Oldies everywhere. The average age is about 68. The soup of the day was broccoli cheddar and they only had iceberg lettuce for salads. Talk about amateur hour.

Piccadilly, where have you been all my life? I found out about the Piccadilly's existence a day before I went there for lunch. Of course, I have always seen the sign on Arsenal and on several occasions thought, "What the hell is The Piccadilly at Manhattan?" Well I now have the answer: "A charming lunch spot." If you see a group of retired men sitting at the widow front table, you can guarantee you have found a great lunch place. The restaurant is so charming. The patio looks great! I got the chicken tenders. They weren't anything to write home about...but they were chicken tenders, soooo. Service was great. Highly recommend. Cannot wait to go back for dinner and drinks. Go to this hidden spot. You will not regret it.

A "diamond-in-the-rough?." Maybe. But definitely a ruby in the rough. Smack dab in the middle of a typical, older, grey collar subdivision, which lends to the quaintness when finding it. But the restaurant itself is not "quaint." Classic rock albums and album covers grace the table tops (under the poliglass tops). Jim Croce, Stones, etc.. Cool but comfortable, relaxed vibe. Small place, but not cramped. Old wood bar to left as you walk in seems like a good place to relax and talk Cards baseball...nothin' fancy. Some TVs, but too small and few in number to be considered sports bar-ish. Food is very good and has some uniqueness to it. For example , Mac & cheese is baked with no sauce , rather a blend of 4 cheeses, with a thin bread topping broiled to perfect crispiness. Yums the word. I had plank salmon on special, and it was right up with the best...moist, firm yet flaky texture. Delicious scampi butter-type coating. Taste was that wonderful mild but different taste that salmon lovers crave. Wife had Philly steak sandwich...so-so. Child had cheeseburger... She's picky yet Loved it, particularly fries that came with. BIGGEST WINNER was the flash fried spinach. So good that even miss picky, a 13 year old, Loved it, talks about it still and wants to go back just for that! I order it all the time at different places. It's a Tricky dish to make right. Easy to blow it by making it too oily. Here, it lighter-than-air crispiness melts in your mouth like it should. Service: fine. Older Teenager for us....polite, conversational, and hustled. Price: Bit on the high side, but commensurate with quality of food. I would certainly go back.

The chicken was average fried. Crispy and slightly less greasy than normal. Nothing really special, no real flavor. The turkey sandwich was slightly better with more garlic, artichoke flavor. That is all I tried. The atmosphere is a little cramped. Overall: 3.5/5

The Picadilly is a must visit place in Maplewood. I used to live about two blocks away so I have been there several times and I have never had anything that wasn't delicious. My most recent visit was last night for Valentines Day. I ordered the Cajun pasta. It was absolutely delicious. It had so many great flavors in it. The best part was the fact that it tasted nothing at all like what I expected. I'm glad it didn't because this was way better. My fiancée got a filet mignon. It was also delicious. It was cooked perfectly. There's not very many places where you can get an 8oz filet for like $23 either. It came with a baked potato and a salad. She said the poppyseed dressing was great. Other things I have had there are the baby back ribs, double cheeseburger, wings, chicken pot pie, and I'm sure there are more but I am forgetting at this moment. The ribs are some of the best ribs I've ever had - I've had quite a few in my life. The chicken pot pie is huge and has an amazing flakey crust. The wings are the burgers are great and should not be dismissed if that's more of the mood you are in. Next visit: pulled pork stuffed barbecue ravioli. I can't wait!

YOU LIKE POT PIE??? I DO TOO...and NOBODY makes a better one FROM SCRATCH than Piccadilly's!!! When I received my pot pie, I first fell in LOVE with its pillowy presentation boasting FRESH HOMEMADE buttery puff-pastry in a giant dome-shape. It was staring at me. I thought it was too good to be true. BUT, low and behold, I stuck my fork in the flaky domed crust and it gracefully collapsed into the creamy, dreamy chicken stew-like substance that was yummy in my mouth (and hot). I wanted to eat two of them. It was probably the BEST savory thing I have ever had in my mouth!!!!!! I am '"allergic" to MSG and it is not in this pie :) --note that. If you don't have a car, rent one just to get here. If your car broke down, steal one and drive there NOW. THE PLACE: It feels like home, and looks like your great-aunts house. The employees are great and really care about their jobs. I make homemade pot pies with my own dough and it pretty much SUCKS in comparison. Just sayin' LOVE YOU PICCADILLY @ Manhattan :) xxooooo

Outstanding! We (a group of us) visited today for lunch. You can't ask for better service, food or comfort anywhere! We meet monthly here and there about the St Louis area and this is the best we've found! We will definitely be back. I just wish I had ordered the chicken pot pie!!!!

It's Friday night and the beau and I were going back and forth about what to do for dinner... I didn't really have an opinion so while I was driving home from work he was checking yelp to see what we could come up with. When I got home he suggested Piccadilly and I was truly perplexed since I had never heard of it before. It is 4 mins from my house and I didn't even know this little gem existed! Upon entering we were seated immediately which was pretty awesome for a Friday night. I'm going to tell you a little secret but you have to promise not to judge us... We arrived at the restaurant at 6. Yes 6:00, i know we seem like a couple in their late 70's trying to catch the early bird special but neither one of us has hit 30 yet. Sad and very true. Anyways, we were promptly greeted by a friendly server and we ordered some beer. Oh man did it taste good after the week I had! When he brought our drinks he took our orders as well... Grouper sammie (and dinner salad) for me and the open face steak mashed potato gravy thing for the beau. He couldn't eat it fast enough, I swear I saw him start to pick up the plate to lick it! Needless to say, he loved it. He also had about half of my grouper sandwich which was equally delicious. It was pretty tasty and fresh considering it's November in the Midwest. I know you're probably thinking that i made that 6 o'clock detail up but nope. Got there at 6 on the dot... and were outta there by 6:30. Not once did we ever feel rushed or unwelcome either, pretty impressive!

Brunch. Let me start by saying: Worst Hostess Ever She must be a relative of the owner or manager or some similar explanation because we felt like we were interrupting, not invited, and not even wanted. The restaurant was full, but instead of offering options, she just looked around and with confusion and said "There's really nowhere to sit, so.....?" After I asked for a wait time, which I got no answer, she said, "well, maybe you could sit outside". (it was cold outside, and overcast) accepting this unfavorable option, she escorted us to the back patio which was covered and heated, and quite cute even. DUH..... and there were about 8 empty tables. YOUR FIRED! oh wait, you're the owners kid, I forgot. ok, well we got our seats, were greeted by a very friendly waiter, and all was well. or at least cop esthetic. Choosing from the menu is hard because everything sounded delicious, but I zeroed in on the Eggs Benedict section. Mostly, because they have several different varieties. but before settling we had biscuits and gravy as an appetizer. Some of the best I have had, rivaling any of the Courtesy, Chris's Pancakes, or Uncle Bills for certain, more of an upscale restaurant that decided they would serve biscuits and gravy to be ironic. I ordered the Sardou and my girlfriend got the Salmon, both from the Bendicts. Amazing. Fresh. and perfect proportions to each of the ingredients. I have thought that Brasserie in the CWE had the best Benedict. but now, I may have to figure out a way to do a side by side comparison. Our meal and our waiter saved what could have been a horrible review of Picadilly.

This is a neighborhood gem. Kind of tavernish, but not the kind of place where a bunch of old men are drinking Budweiser at the corner of the bar. Take it up a couple of notches as far as that goes, but it definitely still has a neighborhood kind of feel, even though it's honestly a little nicer than the surrounding neighborhood. Parking is wherever you can find it. We started out with the Flash Fried Spinach app was really good, and a pretty good deal at $4.99. The house salad was good. They make their own dressing, but since we got Italian, it wasn't so impressive. We got a chicken strip app to share with our daughter, they were pretty good - could have used more seasoning. The ranch (?) dip they came with was really good and obviously made in kitchen. Finally, the Shrimp Po-Boy was pretty good with a nice kick. We weren't blown away by the food, but it was pretty good. I like the casual atmosphere. Not sure we'll be back since it's not terribly convenient. If we lived in the neighborhood, we'd probably be back. The pot pie does sound good. There is no kids menu, so that was kind of a downer. My suggestion for a place like this is offer half size apps verbally when someone comes in with their kid.

The server was friendly and knew the menu well. I started with a bloody mary - delish. The app was spinach artichoke dip and chips. Good, nothing over the top. The ribs were great. I subbed the menu sides for mac and cheese and green beans. Both were very good. I thought the mac and cheese might be creamier, but still good. My friend had the nacho special. It was a huge serving and they were tasty. We were super full when we left and both left some on our plate - couldn't finish. Would definitely go back. It was a bit cramped for space inside, but that added the the neighborhood joint feel.

What a wonderful discovery --- a homey restaurant serving classic American food. Comfortable service. Homey decor. A patio. A full bar. Desserts made inhouse. We ordered chicken pot pie, grilled cheese, fried chicken. All three entrees got big thumbs up. The restaurant is in a residential neighborhood...at the corner of Piccadilly and Manhattan.

We Love Piccadilly! So fortunate to have this friendly little restaurant in our neighborhood. The fried chicken is always made to order and is absolutely my favorite. In my opinion hands down better than Hodaks. It's cute and welcoming (an old home restored) with both in and outside dining. The service is fast and friendly. Don't miss this hidden gem in the city. You'll love it!

I went to dinner Saturday Night and what a great hidden treasure this place is. It has a really nice bar and a great deck for out door dining. Inside is clean and nice. The food is excellent. Lots of comfort food. Meatloaf is the best I have ever had out and the chicken potpie is to die for. When I tell you to give this place a try, trust me, you won't go wrong.

This was truly a great experience. When you walk into Picadilly, you feel like you've walked into someone's home. It feels welcoming and warm. My friend and I sat at the bar where John took care of us for the evening. I'll spare you too much narrative. We started with the onion rings. They were hot and not too greasy. Overall a win. I meant to ask but my only uncertainty was if they were homemade or frozen. But I suppose if you have to ask then that means they're pretty darn good. My friend had called ahead to ask about their specials and told me walking in that he would be getting the ribs. I was a bit uncertain about this place as a BBQ joint so I perused the menu to see if something else sounded more appealing. A lot of great options were there (fried chicken, chicken pot pie, homemade black bean burger) but I decided to try the ribs and they were ridiculously good. You want fall off the bone. Done. They are dry rubbed and while you can get them served with the sauce on them, you need it on the side so you can appreciate them without it as well. The cole slaw it was served with wasn't killer but they get a pass for such great BBQ. My only real regret was not having room for dessert. I believe blackberry cobbler and carmel apple cobbler were the choices. This place has most definitely earned multiple repeat visits. You should probably go. Right now!

I am a little embarrassed to say that until today I actually had no idea that The Piccadilly at Manhattan even existed. I'm really glad I know now, though, because this place is so much fun! It reminds me of one of the restaurants out in Defiance, MO for some reason. It's really hidden and it's actually at the bottom of a little neighborhood... Very cozily situated. It was pretty busy during today's Friday lunch hour but we were sat immediately and all had water right away. Our server was nice but pretty dry and non-talkative, but he just seemed to be really shy. The Piccadilly is casual and kind of has that 'anything goes' atmosphere. It also has an adorable little bar that was filled up with all different types of people, mostly all there by themselves. I can't wait to try more of the menu! Today I had the black bean veggie burger and it was delicious. The texture was something I've never experienced, but perhaps I've never really had one done right? It was free-form almost. Not a solid patty, but really soft lumps of black beans and vegetables. It was topped with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and pickles... I had no trouble eating the whole thing. I subbed a house salad instead of the fries and I'm so glad I did! It tasted a lot like Pasta House salad and was really fresh. (I did try a bite of someone else's fries, though, and they were crispy and perfectly cooked.) What a fun spot! I'll come back for lunch but will probably try it out for casual dinner and drinks, too.

We have dined at Piccadilly many times in the past and it has always been a very enjoyable experience... even on the patio during a warm summer evening. That was not the case on this warm summer evening. There was no waiting for our party of 3 (including one child), the hostess was very polite, our server seemed a little put off to be our server, he was in no way rude, just slightly condescending. Granted, it was warm and he was probably hot, being that they were very busy and he was obviously working hard... Which leads me to my main gripe - there were flies EVERYWHERE! One of the flies was swimming in my delicious mostly full drink, i know it's summer and eating outside there is a chance that will happen (which our server condescendingly informed me of). He offered another drink at no charge, which I declined, it was halfway through dinner and we were tired of the swarming flies. I would recommend some fans on the patio to help with the fly problem and cool off the wait staff also. They also charged for the cocktail the fly was swimming in that I sent back. The food was delicious, always is. I have always gotten the impression they are family friendly, in which case I think it would be nice if there were a child's menu or at least some smaller portion options. We probably won't go back to Piccadilly in the summer and dine on the patio, which we used to enjoy. Maybe a chilly winter evening we'll head back for some delicious fried chicken and hopefully we'll have a different server.

I am definitely adding this place to my normal rotation. It's clear that it is a family restaurant, frequented by lots of regulars. I was there on Friday night and it seemed like almost everyone knew each other. The inside is a little tight, but not as claustrophobic as I thought upon reading other reviews. They also have a back patio, which I did not get to try out. I got there a little after 8:00 and the dinner rush was dying down a bit, but it was still a little hectic inside. The hostess was wandering around the restaurant with a clipboard trying to keep everything organized. This is a place I could definitely take my grandparents to and they would feel comfortable. I say that because there were a ton of old people there, the food was good, but nothing fancy, and it was CHEAP. Almost everything was under $10, including meatloaf, fried chicken, double cheeseburgers, and pulled pork sandwiches. I went with the pulled pork sandwich with fries and a tiny side of mayo coleslaw. I hate to say this because I'm positive they spent hours smoking that pork, but it almost tasted like something I'd get in a school cafeteria. I think it might have been the bbq sauce that was slathered on it, though, because they few pieces I had where I could really taste the meat were really good, but overall I just couldn't taste that. My husband's cheeseburger was really good. It reminded me of a cheeseburger you'd get at the carnival. And that's a huge compliment in my mind. Fries come with all the sandwiches and they are super crispy and really, really yummy. There were two homemade desserts - blackberry cobbler and pineapple upside down cake - and of course I had to try one so I went with the cake. I don't think I've ever ordered this out anywhere, but it was good. Tasted homemade. I got a gander at the chicken pot pie at someone else's table and it was humongous! It it tastes as good as it looks then I'm sold. I'm also dying to go back and try the grilled cheese and wings.

Had dinner during the week on the outdoor patio. Ambiance was nice. GF loved that the patio was paws-friendly. Our first time there and I went straight for the much talked about chicken pot pie. It did not disappoint. Flaky crust and a good meat to veggie ratio. My drink was made well too. The place did have a very homey feel to it which I appreciated. Overall a very positive experience and I'll be back. Only slight downside was that the GF's salmon, while delicious, was a small portion for the price.

I love this hidden gem in a residential Maplewood neighborhood. They have great food and decent service. I tried the BBQ ravioli when I was here over the weekend. It was quite tasty and comes with coleslaw that was also very good. It was a bit pricey for what I got. I think $12.99 for a lunch menu item when you get about 6 raviolis is a bit high. But they do smoke their own meat. Parking is street parking although I think they have a few pull in spots on the backside of the house like building.Service was a bit slow but not terrible. So between the slow service and overpriced lunch I just gave them 4 stars. But the quality of food is always good here. Also they have a new pot pie, the short ribs pot pie they had as a special. It is mashed potatoes, short ribs, some veggies like in a pot pie then the crust on top.

I came here the other night with my bf, his mentor & his mentor's wife. Everything on the menu here looks freaking good. Due to my medical condition (inability to digest fatty foods), I could only tolerate several things (burger with fries & ribs) with the assistance of Pepto Bismol. My bf got the chicken pot pie. It came with an overflowing pie crust on top of the ceramic bowl. It looked & smelled freaking delish! My burger was okay as well as the fries. Not overly awesome, but just okay. The burger was a bit too well cooked for me iMHO. In my next life, I hope I can come to this place to enjoy the fried chicken & other great fatty deliciousness. Parking can be a bit difficult, & the place looks like a house on the outside. The staff were great, & we didn't wait long for the food.

Went here on a hot Wednesday night and we had reservations but still had to wait about 15-20 minutes. We wanted to get a drink at the bar but the bartender never helped us. That was a downer! However, I'm still giving this 4 stars because the food was REALLY good, even if the service was kind of blah. I don't mind waiting for our table, but the bartender made eye contact with us, then continued washing glasses and ignoring us. Then we got our appetizers before the drinks even came. Then about 5 minutes later about half of our table's drinks arrived...and then another 10 minutes later the other half of the table's drinks came. By that time, the appetizers were already gone! Anyways, I had the black bean burger with chipotle mayo, which was really delicious. We also had the flash fried spinach (never had that before, and it was very tasty!) For dessert we had peach cobbler, which was great as well. Overall, an A- for the food, and a C for the service!

I like the Piccadilly. And not just because I felt like one of the youngest people in the place -- even though I'm over f...uh....fourteen. We were there on a Thursday night at 5 (the next available reservation was 8 p.m.). Let's just say the crowd, like the food, was well-seasoned. It's not like we were at Miss Sheri's cafeteria or anything - these folk had their own teeth or at least they weren't gumming their strip steak. It's just that the early crowd was decidedly mature, as opposed to an after-work happy hour crowd. I can see why they were there. The food was not trendy - it's comfort food and smoked meat - but it was really, really good. It's like mom used to make, if your mom was a professional chef. My daughter had the fried chicken. Juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. I wouldn't be surprised if it were panfried. It was a half chicken. She had hoped to save a couple of pieces to take home for later. None made out of the restaurant. My sister had the pulled pork. She tried to discreetly lick the plate. I had the chicken pot pie. You guessed it ... every last bite. My other sister - the ribs. Gone. Peach and blackberry cobblers - inhaled. Now you could say that maybe the Piccadilly serves small portions. You'd be wrong. These aren't the gargantuan portions that have contributed to the national obesity epidemic, but they are certainly filling. And the prices are eminently reasonable. It's no wonder the place was jammed. And if I'm going to complain about anything, it would be that this is a small place. Our table was next to the door. Literally next to the door. People waiting for tables were over our shoulders and in our faces. And it got loud. Anyway, since we had eaten so early, we left early, too. And as we left, a somewhat younger crowd was arriving. So, if you're a little fogey-phobic, wait until later to get to the Piccadilly. But get to the Piccadilly.

We went here for an early dinner on a Saturday. It was pretty empty. I loved the fun table decorations. We sat at the Bob Dylan table. I ordered the chicken pot pie and a salad. First of all they make their own ranch dressing in-house. It was super tasty. And the pot pie was so big I couldn't finish it! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some tasty home cooked type food!

I was there last night and the food was amazing! Even though they are known for their fried chicken (which was so good from the sample I had), had their smoked pork chop special with the baked mac and cheese and it was wonderful. Would like to go back and try patio seating. If you haven't been, should check it out!

Talk about hidden treasures! The Piccadilly at Manhattan is truly that. Located at 7201 Piccadilly Avenue in 63143 . . . if you love a 10 ounce grilled to perfection double cheese burger with toasted bun and fries for only $7.99 . . . you need to go tonight for dinner! They also have delicious homemade meatloaf, with generous portions, with homemade mashed potatoes and grilled green beans - $7.99. If you are in the mood for baby back ribs - they grill their own and an entire slab is only $22.95. The place is small inside, but has a very nice comfortable patio for weather permitting seating. THe owners live upstairs . . . you will love this neighborhood gem. Complete bar and wine selection and has been here since the 1920s . . . actually Nick's father and uncle are pictured in a few of the pictures by the front door! Great servers too - Chuck is our favorite, decor is beautiful and you will return many times in the future! They accept reservations during the week, but because they are slammed during Friday and Saturday nights for dinner . . . I would suggest you call ahead. The only negative is that I feel the Sunday brunch/breakfast is way overpriced - just my two cents worth! Enjoy!

Yep, the best ribs in Saint Louis, sorry bogarts. The ribs were dry rubbed and not sauced but came with a gnerous side of BBQ mixture of KCBBQ and another sauce i think. Fries were good too. The wings were too heavily breaded but had a nice sweet sauce on them. Enjoyed the prime rib sandwich which was smoked and delish. We tried two flourless chocolate desserts and both were very good too.

The minute I stepped inside the restaurant, the smell of ribs was too much to resist, I decided I must have them! The flavor was excellent but they were a bit tough for my taste. I really had to saw into them with a knife to get them into manageable pieces. The service was fine, and I like the atmosphere, it was actually quite crowded on a random Wednesday night. The one thing that bothered me was that the server said we could subsitute onion rings or coleslaw for the fries and he never once mentioned it would be $2.00 extra. Those onion rings were not worth an extra $2. Next time I'll stick to the fries. I would love to try this place for brunch, so I'll be back.

Piccadilly at Manhattan is a charming little neighborhood restaurant/bar that has been located smack in the middle of the residential St. Louis City neighborhood of Ellendale (where the City borders Maplewood), since 1904. The family that still owns it closed the restaurant in 2002 for extensive renovations and reopened in December 2007. To say it's charming is an understatement. This historic building has a country-esque facade, flower boxes in the windows, and a beautiful patio/deck. The only thing it's missing is a white picket fence. We received an incredibly warm welcome from staff and owners when we arrived and service was uber-friendly. I was struck by how clean and tidy everything was. It is clear that alot of love goes into this place. The food is yummy and made from scratch, but not particularly fast. Especially when they fill up. They have a local following and the house gets packed for dinner. I never knew about Piccadilly until recently when I heard about them from a friend who sells them their meat. He explained the quality of the barbecue and other meat items that they prepare from scratch and I had to give them a try. I'm glad I did. They served our beer in pint glasses with crisp sliced oranges and even the water and ice tasted fresh. I ordered the baby-back ribs special ($11.95 for 1/2 slab). It did not disappoint. The meat was slightly caramelized and the sauce (served on the side) was smoky and slightly sweet. It was delicious. A friend ordered a pulled pork sandwich ($6.99) and it was yummy too. The menu (average price $6-$11) consists of everything from barbecue, salmon, & grouper to chili, pasta dishes, meatloaf, and chicken picatta. We went for an early dinner and ended up staying on the deck for four hours enjoying the food, beautiful weather and friendly people. Finding Piccadilly is the biggest challenge, but one that is well worth the trip. It feels a little like the Blue Owl in Kimmswick, so take your mum or Grandmother with you when you go. It will surely be a treat. Looking at a map of this location can be a little confusing because McCausland changes names about three times in a 1/2 mile stretch, and the restaurant is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You can turn directly onto Piccadilly or Manhattan from MCausland, just south of Arsenal. McCausland might be called Ellendale or something else on a map, but for directional purposes, it is still McCausland.

When I happened on the picadilly a few years ago by mistake, it was one of the best mistakes I've ever made! It looks so much like someones home that I wasn't sure it could really be a business! It can be hard to find even after you've been there a few times. I love the homelike charming atmosphere. I actually am not sure I've ever sat inside because I love sitting out in the back so much! I've never had anything I didn't really enjoy there. Including the grilled cheese! Last time I had a house salad, chicken pot pie, and mashed potatoes (hey i was hungry!). The pot pie was great! Tasted homemade and scrumptious! I did notice there was hardly any chicken in it, which is absolutely great for me but it should be noted for the people looking for lots of meat. The mashed potatoes were good, but they didn't taste as fresh. I just discovered they do takeout, and being the homebody I can be, this will most likely become a very frequent takeout dinner for me!

These may have been the best ribs I've ever had. They were so soft and sooo delicious. The baked mac 'n cheese wasn't too shabby either.
